WanLiu House, Beijing

Located near the Summer Palace, the long-awaited Wanliu House residence inherits the tranquility of the former royal gardens of the Qing Dynasty. This unique project is our first landscape design, and our scope included the porte cochere, main entrance, drop-off area, promenade and apartment canopy and lobby.

The arrival experience begins at the bronze gate, accentuated with simplified brick patterns and jet brushed grey marble, opening up to reveal a majestic landscape feature stone which sets the stage for the secret garden behind. The promenade leading to the clubhouse is lined with an abundance of Chinese Scholartrees upon a jade waterfall structure which lights up at night, reflecting its mirage towards the treasured clubhouse – a magnificent 260 year old former Wanglong mansion transported from Zhejiang Province and lovingly restored to its original state.
